Science in Dance Conference for Teachers of Dance

Sunday 26th November, Science in Dance hosts its first ever Conference for Teachers of Dance. This exclusive event it aimed at introducing Teachers, from all genre of Dance, to the anatomy of a Dancer, the processes of Athletic development in Dance and Injury Prevention for Dancers.


The Day will consist of practical and educational sessions including Strength training and Mobility elements, Ballet Class delivered by Kate Simmons to link anatomy, Strength training and the aesthetics of Ballet, Presentations on key aspects for the development of a Dancer's body and Educational talks from established members of the Ballet World and Sport Science community.


This is the perfect opportunity for Teachers to gain first hand insight into how Training and Physiotherapy principles can enhance Dancer performance and most importantly keep individuals safe and Dancing for longer than ever before.


Our confirmed guest speakers and practitioners are:


Jamie Bond MSc. a former Principal Dancer with Birmingham Royal Ballet and now an Academy Strength and Conditioning Coach in The Premier League.


Gemma Parry MSc. who is internationally established physiotherapy amongst the English Institute of Sport and has significant understanding and experience working with Professional and Vocational Dancers.


Kate Simmons. World renowned Choreographer and Teacher. Kate graduated the Royal Ballet School and joined London Festival Ballet in the hay day of Rudolf Nereyev's artistry as a Director at the company. She has teaching and coaching prowess that is second to none and is widely regarded as one of the UK's premier Dance Teachers for vocational students.


Thirdly, we will be announcing a confirmed special guest closer to the time...


And Lastly there will be myself, Rupert Wiltshire (Founder of Science in Dance), to tie the whole day together and welcome you all to KS Dance who are hosting our event. It will be my pleasure to give new and established teachers a respectful and insightful pathway into the world Sport Science and how us practitioners are here to help you get the most from your students.
